    Retirement Plan

    Only 10% of small businesses in the US offer a retirement plan, and we are that 10%!

    Carolina Pintos Therapy, PLLC will match the additional contributions made by you on top of your contributions made. These matches are made 100% for the first 3% of the contribution amount, and 50% for any contribution above that, and up to 5% of the total compensation. Please feel free to use the “Anonymous Feedback Box” if you have any questions or would like to leave us your feedback.

    Retirement FAQ

    What are the retirement plan prerequisites?
    • You are eligible to participate in the Plan if the following conditions are met:
    • You are a current employee of Carolina Pintos Therapy
    • You’ve been employed with Carolina Pintos Therapy for at least 12 months (generally
      including periods of employment prior to any Breaks in Service, described below), and
    • You’ve reached the age 21
    How do I know if I'm eligible?

    You should be eligible after 12 months of employment. You should get an email notification asking if you want to proceed with the retirement plan signup. If you have any further questions, please contact your system administrator, Homero Miranda 760-707-2875.

    What are the exclusion to participate in retirement plan?

    Independent contractors, union employees whose employment is governed by a collective bargaining agreement under which retirement benefits were the subject of good faith bargaining (unless the collective bargaining agreement requires the employee to be included within the Plan), leased employees, and certain nonresident aliens who have no earned income from sources within the United States cannot participate in the Plan.

    When can I start my retirement plan?

    You may enroll at any time after you satisfy the eligibility requirements (described above) and meet the Entry Date for enrollment as described below. You will receive an enrollment invitation by email from Guideline when you become eligible to participate in the Plan. Employees must be an employee for a minimum of 12 months to qualify.

    When does my entry date begin?

    After you have met the eligibility conditions, you will enter the Plan and become a “Participant” effective as of the next full pay period that comes directly after the date of the eligibility requirements are met as long as you are still employed on that date.

    What happens if I am terminated?

    If you terminate employment with Carolina Pintos Therapy, you may be able to keep your funds in the Plan, but you will no longer be eligible to make new contributions. Upon termination, you also may be eligible to take a distribution from the Plan or may be able to request a rollover to another account. (See “Distribution of Your Funds” below for more information).
