The purpose of this Ethics Policy is to maintain the highest level of professionalism and consistency in the demeanor, teachings, and treatment direction of the office of Carolina Pintos Therapy, PLLC. This Policy is designed to ensure employees have a clear understanding of what is deemed acceptable or prohibited when having a conversation or building a relationship with patients. 

It is Carolina Pintos Therapy, PLLC's policy to prohibit conversations with patients relating to race, religion, or politics. It is also forbidden to prescribe additional treatments, exercises, and/or medication (over-the-counter or wholistic) without the written approval of a Lead Therapist. Furthermore, exchanging information with patients for the purposes of friendship, partnership, advice, outside services, or relationship is strictly prohibited without the written approval of a higher-level manager of Carolina Pintos Therapy, PLLC.

If any employee feels that they have been exposed to this violation and feel offended, they should immediately report the matter to their direct supervisor. If the employee is unable for any reason to contact this person, or if the employee has not received a satisfactory response within five (5) business days after reporting any incident of what the employee perceives to be a non-acceptable behavior, the employee should contact any higher-level manager in their reporting hierarchy. Every report will be fully investigated and corrective action will be taken where appropriate. All complaints will be kept confidential to the extent possible, but confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. In addition, Carolina Pintos Therapy, PLLC will not allow any form of retaliation against individuals who report unwelcome conduct to management or who cooperate in the investigations of such reports in accordance with this policy. If the employee feels that they have been subjected to any such retaliation, they should report it in the same manner in which the employee would report a claim of harassment claim. Violation of this policy including any improper retaliatory conduct will result in disciplinary action, up to and including discharge. All employees must cooperate with all investigations.
